Man in the Mirror
今日は、マイケル・ジャクソンの誕生日だったんですね。別にMJのファンではないのですが、彼の生前のマスコミからの叩かれ方、実像と虚像の乖離、貧困問題に深い関心を持ち、子供に愛情を注いだところなど、いささかRFKとつながる部分があって、親近感はあります。向こうは迷惑かもしれないが(~_~;)。
マイケルのMan in the Mirrorという曲が私は好きで、これはRFKを連想する歌詞だと思ってます。
で、仕事の息抜きに何気なくYou TubeでMan in the Mirrorを見たら、そこにボビーが！（アンバサダーホテルでの勝利演説の最後、“It's on to Chicago, and let's win there"と言っている部分と撃たれた後の映像がちょっと出てきます。2分13秒から数秒間。）
というわけで、その映像をここに貼り付けようと思った次第。
ついでにというのも何ですが、They Don't Care about Us (Prison Version)の動画も。（これも好きな曲なのです。好きと言うと語弊があるような、激しい歌詞ですが。キング牧師がちらっと映像にも、歌詞にも出てきます。）
この監獄バージョンは暴力的すぎるという理由により、MTVで放映禁止になったとかいうものだったと思いますが、同じ曲のブラジルバージョンより、私は好きです。この歌が訴えたいことが、ストレートに激しい怒りと共に伝わってきます。ボビーの激しさにつながる感じがして、好きなのです。
