J・K・ローリングの新しい本

　会議の合間にパラパラとGuardian Weeklyを見てましたらば、J.K.RowlingがRobert Galbraithなる別名で“The Cuckoo's Calling"という本を書いたことに関する記事とその本の書評が載っていました。

　で、記事の第一段落で、彼女の別筆名の由来の説明があり、それによれば、ロバート・ガルブレイスのロバートは、彼女の政治的ヒーローであるロバート・F・ケネディから取ったものなのだそう。

　おお！ハリー・ポッターにあまり興味がなかった私でありますが、いきなり作者に親近感を抱いてしまいましたがな。
　私たち、RFKでつながっていたのね！って感じ。（向こうは別に知ったことではないでしょうが。）

　名前由来の説明個所は以下の通り。

JK Rowling chose her alter ego of Robert Galbraith by conflating the name of her political hero Robert F Kennedy and her childhood fantasy name "Ella Galbraith", the Harry Potter writer has explained on her alternative persona's official author website.

　思いがけないところで、ボビーの名前を目にして、ちょっと驚きました。

　I chose Robert because it is one of my favourite men’s names, because Robert F Kennedy is my hero and because, mercifully, I hadn’t used it for any of the characters in the Potter series or 'The Casual Vacancy'.
